We work on all kinds of bikes!
Cosmic Bikes technicians the expertise to service and repair a wide range of specialty bikes, including recumbents, cargo bikes and Bromptons.
Our service department has the equipment and tools to handle most repairs and modifications, as well as reliable access to specialty parts, accessories and e-assist components. We are skilled at addressing typical problems that arise, and familiar with handling more unusual issues, including adaptive modifications.
RANGE OF SERVICES
If you own a a specialty bicycle, such as cargo, recumbent or Brompton, you may have learned that not every bike shop is willing to or equipped to work on it, and may not have the vendor relationship to obtains proprietary parts. Since we focus on alternative bike types and brands, our service department can handle everything from a simple flat fix to comprehensive services including tune-ups, wheel builds, components upgrades, adaptive modifications and installing and servicing electric assist units.

Complete tune-up and overhaul services
Electric drive unit diagnostics and servicing*
Individual component servicing, including tire repair and replacement, gearing and brakes adjustment or replacement, wheel truing
Replacement or repair of components, including drivetrain, headset, bottom-bracket, cables, hydraulic bleeds and other standard or specialized components

Complete assembly of specialty bikes purchased elsewhere (assembly is included on all specialty bikes purchased from us)*
*We work exclusively with electric bicycle systems that offer reliable US-based tech support, including Shimano, Bosch, Neodrives, Electric Bike Outfitters, Swytch, and GRIDE. We cannot service e-bikes or after-market kits purchased online, overpowered e-assist units, electric scooters or e-moto bikes. We do not work on gas-powered motors.

As a Brompton owner, you already know how precisely it is designed to work around its trademark compact fold. Tuning and repairing Bromptons requires a high level of expertise, and keen sensitivity to its unique design and specificity of the parts.
Our mechanics are Brompton experts with many years’ experience, and can handle everything from a simple flat fix to comprehensive services and modifications.

Complete tune-up services using original Brompton replacement parts and cables
Electric Brompton troubleshooting and service
Flat tire repair using genuine Schwalbe inner tubes and choice of Schwalbe or Continental tires
Precise gearing adjustments to ensure smooth and accurate shifting and eliminate cable slippage
Complete brake work for secure, dependable stopping
Drivetrain cleaning, service and replacement, including gearing up or down using genuine Brompton parts
Headset and bottom-bracket replacement
