This class is open to adults and teens riding independently. We will have demo wheels and bikes on hand, but it is best to bring your own bicycle for this class.
Gain self-reliance for more confident riding in cooler season. In this workshop we go over everything you need to know to change a flat on a bicycle, including indentifying and preventing common causes of flats, getting the wheel off your bike, removing and reinstalling the tube and tire, and assembling your basic repair kit. (NOTE: This class will not cover tubeless systems; we will be focusing on standard bicycle tires with inner-tubes.)
We’ll also cover basic safety check and home maintenance tasks, with special attention to chain and drivetrain care to increase the longevity of the components in winter conditions. You’ll learn basic maintenance you can do yourself to keep your bike operating safely through the winter months, and to protect it's components. We'll cover everything from cleaning and lubrication the drivetrain, protecting your bike from salt damage, and ensuring that it stops safely when you need it to.
We'll help you make sure you have the basic tools and materials needed for your basic repair needs, available at 20% discount to participants on the day of the class.
