Thank you so much for buying your new Brompton from Cosmic Bikes! We hope you've been enjoying it, and want to make sure that you continue to do so for seasons to come.

To that end, we're offering customers who purchased new Bromptons from us the opportunity to extend the services included in the original one-year service package for an additional 3 years. This extended service will normally be priced at $250, but through October 31, 2017, we are offering it to our first year customers for $150. This is the normal price of our Deluxe Tune-Up. But, as part of this package, you will receive 3 annual Deluxe Tune-Ups as well as labor on covered maintenance, as outlined in the service description below.

Questions? We've got answers!

Q. What about the Brompton Bottom Bracket Recall?
A. We're on it!  Click here to learn more.

Q. Why are you doing this Extended Serivce? You're giving away the farm!
A. Yes and no. We believe in generating goodwill and good karma. The way we see it, if we're super nice, and offer you a great value, you'll have no reason to get your bike stuff anywhere else!

Q. I just bought my bike and I haven't even used my FREE tune-up yet. Will you be offering the same deal next year?
A. We can't guarantee that we'll be running the same promotion next year, but don't worry! Getting the 3-year extension won't cancel your free tune-up. If you purchase the extended service now, it will kick in on the 1st anniversary of your bike purchase.

Q. I bought more than one bike. What should I do?
A. Thank you! We love you!! You can reserve the extended service package for each of your new bikes. We can track the service history for each bike separately.

Q. What's up with the sign-up form?
A. OK, we're changing our email providers, and we'd like to end up with a clean list, so that we only send relevant information to interested subscribers. If you'd like to receive occasional and timely updates about events, workshops services and specials, we'd love it if you would join our list, and we'll send you a discount code to get $100 off the 3-year extended service. We will never use our mailing list for any nefarious purposes, or sell it, or purposely do anything to annoy you. Sound good? If so, use the form below to join, and then look for an email with your discount code. Thanks!

Brompton Bottom Bracket Recall

As you may know, in September of 2017, Brompton Bicycle issued a VOLUNTARY RECALL NOTICE on the FAG Bottom Bracket cartridge BB66 installed on Brompton bicycles sold between April 2014 – May 2017. The bottom bracket is the bearing assembly that resides inside the frame between the cranks of the bike (center image).

The axle of the 3rd party supplied FAG Bottom Bracket has had higher than expected reported incidence of failure. Although this still meets international safety standards this does not meet the standards which Brompton sets for its components.

Brompton has initiated a program to recall all affected bikes and replace the bottom bracket cartridge with a new and tested part, free of charge to all affected customers.

You can easily determine if your bike is affected by referring to the serial number. The serial number can be found on a curved plate or silver sticker applied to the frame, as shown in the image on the right. The bikes affected have serial numbers from 1403284144 to 1705150001 and can be any model, e.g. M, P, S or H type, or any other configuration. If your Brompton's serial number fall within that range, you can call us and arrange a time for FREE REPLACEMENT of the bottom bracket.

Please be aware that we are awaiting the arrival of replacement parts, and we expect them in late October 2017. If you are an existing customer, you will receive a notice from us when the parts are here. You can always feel free to call us for an update.
